I heard about the Bingley Belles from Judy Robinson, a cycling legend around these parts.
It took me a really long time to join them though, as I wasn’t sure they were for me. I eventually plucked up the courage to email a membership enquiry and joined.
I think it was a matter of weeks before I volunteered to build the club a website. Something that would instantly tell people exactly what the Bingley Belles are and how to join.
Those were the main objectives of the website, but I also wanted it to be a place to share useful information with members, help build community, and share our news.
- I built the site in WordPress, using Elementor Pro.
- For the first time, I made my own icons in Adobe Illustrator to represent our cake rating system.
- I use WooCommerce for the shop and membership renewals.
- RSVPs and Tickets have been really useful on the Events pages to get bookings for workshops.
- Three committee members have been trained to add and edit content, which makes it nicely sustainable.
